Meaghan's Test Blog Post
Here's the content of my blog post.
Meaghan –
Stolen guns endanger Oregonians. (Seems obvious enough.)
More than 24,000 guns have been stolen in Oregon in the past decade. Unregistered. Untraceable. Unsafe.
Portland Police estimate that about 10 percent of the guns recovered from Portland crime scenes are stolen. (But because most gun thefts are not reported the number is likely much higher.)
Safe gun storage would reduce the number of stolen guns that circulate in rural and urban areas across the state.
Do you know who supports safe gun storage? A strong majority of Oregonians, including gun owners. Responsible gun owners know that safely storing firearms prevents theft and saves lives.
Do you know who opposes safe gun storage? Powerful gun lobbyists. That's it.
Our proposal for safe gun storage in Oregon requires reporting a lost or stolen firearm within 24 hours of knowing about the gun's disappearance.
Preventing gun theft and saving lives. That's common sense.
